Product: I want to make a bin that can sort out your rubbish as well as your recycling so that you can sort your own rubbish and recycling, to produce less waste.
Price: Around $250
Position: High end
Promotion: Word of mouth, some sort of online network, (website or social media) and a bit of traditional advertising by flyers, ads, or similar.
My product mainly appeals to people who want to reduce their rubbish, who care for the environment or people in places such as Japan where they have to sort their rubbish into lots of different categories. We might design a modified version to sort it into those specific categories. To take peoples interest, I will try to make them feel guilty, that so much of their waste that could be recycled turns up in landfill, when, if it was sorted properly, could be recycled. Then, make them feel as if this is the only way to help. It could also help make sorting and recycling more fun and easy for everyone. My message is rational, because, it makes it easier to sort your rubbish. It also has an emotional appeal as it makes it more fun and easy for kids, helping them to become more organised and independent. Not to mention, being moral, because it can help the environment by reducing landfill. I think I will advertise mainly by word of mouth and by using partnerships. Perhaps a little bit of advertising by flyers, ads and other forms of traditional advertising as well, if needed. Me, my family and friends would be the main people getting the idea up and running, so we will probably do most of the advertising. However, by having partnerships, we could use people and logos of that as well, especially if that is already a well-known business. If we use other forms of traditional advertising we could use someone famous, if they relate to the product in some way.

An entrepreneur is someone who doesn’t accept how things are and instead tries to fix real problems. They are willing to step out of their comfort zone and try new things in order to fix the problem. Entrepreneurs design a product or service to sell to customers. It is mainly because of entrepreneurs that many things we have today exist. However, since entrepreneurs try new things their idea doesn’t always succeed or their idea does not take off until much later.
